Points Earn
Members or customers can earn points in various ways. In this section, we will share the different types of points that can be created for multiple purposes.
Spending Points
This is the most common method for businesses to allow customers to earn points, helping to improve customer retention. Members earn points based on a percentage of their purchase amount.
For example, members can earn 1 point for every $1 spent, so a $100 purchase would earn them 100 points.
To enable point spending, there are 2 scenarios:
(i) For E-Commerce: You need to set up an E-Commerce product and request IT support to configure a basic points rule.
(ii) Offline Stores: IT support is also required to set up a basic points rule and integrate it with your POS system. For instance, when customers make a purchase in-store, they can provide their phone number or pay with their E-Wallet to earn points instantly.
If your E-Commerce store is integrated with the Prizm CRM backend, the points and purchases can be linked within the system without additional configuration. If not, IT team support will be required to create the linkage between purchases and points earning/spending.
Welcome Points
Welcome Points are points that members automatically receive when they sign up. These points help attract new members and encourage them to start their loyalty journey. For example, members might receive 300 points upon signing up and use 200 points to exchange for a FREE coffee voucher.
In this setup, we can also add a loyalty product to the Welcome Offer, instead of just points. For example, members can receive a free pen and 300 points upon signing up.
You will need to set up a Loyalty Product, create vouchers, and insert them into an Offer to serve as a gift.
Birthday Points
Members can receive extra Birthday Points on their birthday. In the settings, merchants can specify the exact period during which members can receive their birthday points (e.g., by month or by day).
For example, during a member’s birthday month, they can receive an extra 100 points, which will expire by the end of the month.
Birthday points are sent to members either on their birthday or on the first day of their birthday month, as configured in the backend system. Merchants can also set an expiry date for these bonus points to create a sense of urgency and encourage members to use them. All points earned are recorded in the member’s profile.
However, the Birthday Points automation will require support from the IT team to integrate and track customers’ birthdays.
If you want to send a push notification when birthday points are delivered, IT configuration will be required.
Custom Points
Custom Points are points that members earn by completing specific actions. This is perfect for businesses to create engaging events or activities with full creativity.
Here are some real-life use cases:
(i) AR Filter Campaign: Members can earn 200 points by taking a picture with the new AR filter, setting it as their profile picture, and submitting it.
(ii) Social Media Interaction: Members can receive 150 points by commenting on and sharing the new branch promotion post on Instagram.
(iii) Survey Collection: Members can earn 50 points after completing a survey about their recent experience with our service.
Setting up Custom Points is similar to creating an Offer in the backend. Once the Offer is created, inform the IT team to integrate the API for tracking customer behavior.
Voucher Redeem Points
Members can earn points by redeeming vouchers for free or at a reduced points cost. In Voucher Redeem Points, businesses can also combine product rewards with points. Here are a few use case:
(i) Points Renewal: Members can redeem a 200 Points Voucher with 100 points, gaining an extra 100 points as an incentive to use their nearly expiring points.
(ii) Mixed Points: Members can redeem a 100 Points + Free Coffee Voucher with 150 points, combining a points deduction with a product reward.
(iii) VIP Points: VIPs can use 100 points to exchange a FREE Latte but normal members will need to use 300 points to redeem it. To add VIPs, we will have to utilize customer tags.
Voucher Redeem Points
Members can refer friends or family to join as new members and earn Voucher Redeem Points. To do this, members use a referral code generated automatically by the system. Upon a successful referral, they receive a voucher reward, which may include points or products.
Example of How Referrals Work in the Backend:
1. Member A shares their referral code with Member B.
2. When Member B successfully joins, the system creates a new customer ID and referral code for Member B automatically.
3. Member B can then use their new referral code to invite others.
4. This process is referred to as “Member Get Member” in the backend system.
Merchants must configure a loyalty product and offer in the system to provide rewards for successful referrals.
You can also import a list of customer IDs into the system, which will then generate a unique referral code for each customer automatically.
