Tags
The Tags section allows merchants to assign specific labels to customers for better targeting, segmentation, and personalization.
Tags can be used for various purposes, such as:
(i) Source: Identify how the customer became a member — whether through app sign-up, a marketing campaign, or a social media channel.
(ii) Behaviours and Preferences: Tags can be added based on specific actions or traits, such as completing a survey, frequently purchasing white coffee, or being identified as a VIP. This helps merchants better understand customer preferences and tailor their offerings accordingly.
(iii) Retargeting: For personalized engagement, identity-based tags like “food lover”, “joined campaign”, or “complaint customer” should be added to member profiles. For example, a “coffee lover” can be rewarded with a free coffee voucher.
Before assigning tags to individual member profiles, you’ll first need to create the tags in the Tags section from the sidebar. Refer to the setup guide below:
(iv) Segmentation: Tags also enable targeted messaging. Merchants can send broadcast messages to selected groups — for instance, excluding those with the “purchased” tag when sending a special discount message to new buyers.
